Privacy policy

Doorstep is a lead-finding tool for hotels, restaurants and local businesses in Dubai. This page explains what personal information we collect on doorstepfinder.com and in the Doorstep tool, why, where it is kept, and the choices you have. We keep it short and specific.
1. Who we are
Doorstep (“Doorstep”, “we”, “us”) runs the website doorstepfinder.com and the Doorstep Lead Finder Engine. We are based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. For anything in this policy, write to hello@doorstepfinder.com.
2. The waitlist form
When you join the waitlist we collect:
- What you type: your name, work email, phone number, and, if you add them, your company, type of business and city or area.
- What your browser sends: your country (worked out by our hosting provider from your connection), your browser type, and a one-way scrambled code made from your IP address. We use that code only to stop the form being flooded; we do not store your IP address itself.
We use this to contact you about Doorstep: to tell you when your spot opens, to arrange your free first area scan, and to reply to your questions. We do not sell it, rent it or share it with other companies for their own marketing. We will not add you to unrelated newsletters.
Our reason for using it is that you asked to join the waitlist, and our legitimate interest in replying to you and preparing your onboarding.
3. Business information in the Doorstep tool
The Doorstep tool helps our customers find companies near their venue. It works with business information that is already public:
- company listings (name, address, phone, website, opening hours, reviews count) from Google Maps Platform;
- generic business contact details, such as info@ or events@ addresses, published on a company’s own website. Every email shown in the tool carries a link to the page it was found on;
- public signals from the company’s website, such as a careers page or an events page.
We read only public pages, follow each site’s robots.txt rules, do not guess email addresses, and do not collect private social media profiles or home addresses. Our customers use this information to invite nearby businesses to offers such as a team lunch; they decide what to send and send it themselves.
If your company appears in Doorstep and you want its details corrected or removed, email hello@doorstepfinder.com with the company name and website, and we will act on it promptly.
4. Where your data is kept
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the service:

These providers may process data outside the UAE, including in the European Union and the United States. We choose providers with strong security and contractual safeguards for personal data.
6. How long we keep it
We keep waitlist details while the waitlist is open and for up to 24 months after your last contact with us, then delete them, unless you become a customer, in which case your customer agreement applies. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop contacting you. Just email hello@doorstepfinder.com from the address you signed up with, or reply to any message from us. We will answer within 30 days. We handle personal data in line with the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, and with other privacy laws that apply to you.
8. Security
The website and tool are served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS). The Doorstep tool is behind a sign-in that only approved email addresses can pass. Access to waitlist data is limited to the Doorstep team. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and will tell you if a problem affects your data.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell people on the waitlist by email before it takes effect.
